Appointment of Mr Andrew Chua as Non-Executive Independent Director of the Board

The Company announced the appointment of Mr Andrew Chua as Non-Executive Independent Director of the company with the effect from 21 December 2015.

Mr Chua serves on both the Audit and Risk, and Remuneration Committees.

Mr Chua has extensive experience in banking and finance, having made his career in the course of over 34 years, in three international and renowned banks in functional areas of corporate banking and general management. Before 2009, Mr Chua was Managing Director of Enterprise Banking at DBS Bank Ltd, where he had spent more than 20 years.

He is also an independent director of GKE Corporation Ltd and a director of SME Care Pte Ltd.

The Group today announced the incorporation of two wholly-owned subsidiaries in Jersey, Channel Islands, namely Kelaty Holdings Limited and Kelaty Propco Limited, for the purposes of undertaking property investments projects in the United Kingdom.

The Group also announced the proposed acquisition of freehold commercial property known as Kelaty House located at First Way, Wembley HA9 0JD, London at approximately S$55.6 million.  The property is approximately 1.03 hectares and is currently fully leased.

Acquisition of 130 Wood Street, London

The Group today announced the acquisition of 35,343,685 units in 130 Wood Street Unit Trust in London, for a net consideration of £51.32 million (approximately S$107.26 million). The Unit Trust’s only asset is a freehold commercial property.

The property is located at a prime office location to the north of Cheapside, midway between the Bank of England and St Paul's Cathedral.  It has an approximate floor area of 64,785 sq ft, comprising Grade A offices, a basement wine bar and other units let out on long leases for retail & storage. The Property is currently fully leased.
Lum Chang secured a SGD487 million contract for the construction of a mixed development at Yishun Central 1 / Yishun Avenue 2

LCBC was awarded a SGD 487 million contract for the construction of a mixed development at Yishun Central 1 / Yishun Avenue 2 by North Gem Development Pte Ltd and FC North Gem Trustee Pte Ltd as trustee-manager of North Gem Trust. 

The scope of the contract includes the construction of a three-storey podium block comprising retail, community club and bus interchange with two basements and mezzanine of retail and carparks, and 10 storey residential development above. The residential development with 12 blocks and 920 residential units includes a clubhouse, swimming pool and communal facilities. The contract also includes associated works such as the construction of a town plaza, and connection to the existing Yishun MRT station via a new Underground Pedestrian Network.

The date of completion is expected to be in the second half of 2018.

Lum Chang UK Properties Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lum Chang Holdings Limited announce its disposal of 12,450,0001 ordinary shares in Old Court House Propco Limited, representing 100% of the total issued share capital at a Profit of S$11.4 million.  

Old Court House Propco Limited is a special-purpose company incorporated in Jersey, Channel Islands which owns the freehold interest in a mixed-use property located at 42 to 62 (even) Kensington High Street, London W8 4PD.
