LCBC Awarded Third Contract for Changi Business Park Development

LCBC has been awarded a SGD 27.5 million design and build contract by HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Singapore) Limited (HSBCIT) as trustee of Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust (A-REIT). The project, involving the building of an eight-storey office tower, is the third phase of the Changi Business Park commercial development. It is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2011.
LCBC also clinched the awards for the first two phases of the commercial development in 2007 and 2008. Both buildings were completed on schedule and have obtained their respective temporary occupation permits.
Lum Chang Wins S$46.5 Million Dril-Quip Contract to Build New Industrial Development in Tuas

LCBC has been awarded a $46.5 million contract to build a major, single-user industrial development to be located at Tuas South Avenue 1. Awarded by Dril-Quip Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, the project is expected to complete in 16 months’ time.
Comprising 10 industrial buildings spread across 45,600 sq m, the complex will support a large range of activities including administration, finance, sales, service, engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, warehousing and assembly.
Dril-Quip Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is a subsidiary of Dril-Quip, Inc., an international oilfield service company headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA. Dril-Quip, Inc. designs, manufactures, sells and services offshore drilling and production equipment used by major integrated, large independent and foreign natural oil and gas companies in offshore areas throughout the world.

LCH Sells Prime Site in KL for SGD 31.5 Million

Lum Chang Holdings Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary in Malaysia, Uptown ViewPoint Sdn Bhd has signed a sales and purchase agreement with Scenic Point Development Sdn Bhd, a company incorporated in Malaysia, to dispose of a piece of land in a prime area of Kuala Lumpur for a consideration of RM77.2 million or approximately SDG31.5 million.
This piece of land, situated in the vicinity of the KL City Centre is held under Geran 10568 for Lot 298 Seksyen 63 in Bandar Kuala Lumpur, Daerah Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Wilayah Persekutuan, and measures approximately 40,612 square feet (the “Said Land”). This translates to a selling price of approximately RM1,900 per square feet.
The land was originally purchased by Lum Chang for development into a high-rise block of serviced apartments. The offer which Lum Chang received for the land, marks an opportunity for the Group to realise its investment and further fund its other developments in Malaysia.
This transaction is in the normal course of business for the Group. The completion of the sales and purchase agreement for the disposal of the Said Land is expected to be in December 2009. A further announcement will be made then. The Group is expected to make a net gain of approximately SGD7.6 million from the disposal of the Said Land and this will be reflected in the current financial year ending 30 June 2010.
LCBC Wins S$452.4 Million Contract for New MRT Station and Tunnels

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded a S$452.4 million contract to LCBC for the design and construction of the new Bukit Panjang MRT Station and its associated tunnels.
The Station which will be located along Upper Bukit Timah Road at the junction of Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang Road / Woodlands Road, is part of the upcoming infrastructure for Downtown Line 2 (DTL2) which extends north-west from Bugis to Bukit Panjang, along the Bukit Timah corridor. The Station will also serve as a civil defence station.
Besides the station, the contract also includes cut and cover tunnels connecting the Bukit Panjang Station to DTL2 Depot at Gali Batu.
The project is expected to commence in June 2009. DTL2 will be fully-underground, and is targeted for completion in 2015.
This latest contract award to LCBC brings its total value of contracts in progress to over S$1 billion.
Lum Chang Bags Prestigious BCA Green & Gracious Builder (Excellent) Award 2009

Lum Chang is honoured to receive the inaugural Green & Gracious Builder (Excellent) Award 2009. Given by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore, this prestigious award attests to our commitment to addressing environmental and public concerns through the use of efficient, protective and gracious best-practices during the construction phases of our building projects.
But that’s not all. Two of Lum Chang’s design and build projects were also successful contenders in another award category. The BCA Green Mark Platinum Award 2009 was awarded to 3 Changi Business Park Crescent, an office development by Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust, as well as Twenty Anson, an office development by LaSalle Investment Management. Both of these projects further reflect the importance that Lum Chang places on the harnessing of green building initiatives and technologies for global sustainability.
